A clear jab at the'pay to acquire' plans

I was offered an open seat in the Merkaba bar a few blocks away from PAX South on Saturday night. Was a copy of Astellia running on the lowest spec Razer notebook that BE&A can buy, pulling in the busy servers. Surprisingly enough, the match was running !

An eye-catcher at first glance, Astellia knows its market. Bright colour palettes and landscapes filled with detailed props, creatures and set pieces abound in all directions. The character movement is fluid and the summon animations of your'Astells' -- summonable NPCs that struggle for you -- are flawless. The soundtrack for the game is orchestrated and top notch, rounding out the experience.

From the demo, I was provided a maxed-out character with a veritable army of Astells that I could muster, but sadly that did little to show me what progression was similar to. I breezed through the monsters that are free-roaming I was in and took down a mob boss. I completely understand why they put it up this way, but it was slightly disappointing to not have the ability to check out their starting zones so that I could test the waters out of the means by which the game's systems operate.

The artwork on some of the promotional material that I received said"Play to Win", a clear jab at the'pay to acquire' plans which a good deal of Asian MMOs employ. I see why they are ardently advertising it as such, When talking to Westley Connor, the producer of the game. He explained that they are wanting to redefine the appearance of that specific market and need players to know they will have a really fantastic experience if they choose to cover or not.
