UPOM 16E1 to 4-port Ethernet converter is an Ethernet extension device that use PDH, SDH or other microwaves to carry Ethernet data, allowing users to transfer Ethernet data into E1 frame format through the existing TDM (E1) links and then re-convert E1 back to Ethernet data at the remote terminal.

HPC-16E1-4ETH, 16E1 to 4 Ethernet converter support GFP-F, VC (Virtual Concatenation), LCAS (Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme) and professional GUI (Graphical User Interface) NMS (Network Management System).

HPC-16E1-4ETH is an IP over TDM converter, which supports the conversion from MAC frames to 1–16 E1 lines. The maximum bit rate is 32 Mbps (16E1 lines). it can meet various requirements and can be customized to meet your network needs. It not only provides alarms and status of the E1 line and Ethernet interface together with advanced management functions, such as throughput statistic of the Ethernet, but also supports the Unification Network Management via SNMP and GUI. It conforms to international standards and can be used with third-party device that follow the same protocol.

4-port 100M Ethernet interfaces operate in full-duplex or half duplex with flow control, the mode can be set or monitored by management software. The device also has multi-port bridging capability to handle up to 5 bridge ports. The Bridge supports two modes of operation: VLAN-Enable and VLAN-Disable modes. In VLAN-Enable mode, it creates sub-groups of bridge ports within the bridge. Each sub-group is associated with a unique VLAN ID (VID). Frames containing a VID can only be forwarded between bridge ports which are members of the specific VLAN, enabling a total separation between different VLAN users within the same bridge; In VLAN-Disable mode, the bridge forward frames ignoring the VID.

E1 interface ports
● Supports automatic removal and recovery of E1 channels that used for carrying payload.
● Supports the embedded E1 BER Tester function, to detect any E1 channel of 16 channels.
● Jitter tolerance and jitter transfer characteristic compliant to ITU-T G.823.
● The differential delay between any two of the 16E1 can be up to 220ms

Ethernet Interface Ports

Introduction

HPC-FE1-V35 adopting ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) design. It is capable of converting N*64K continuous data flow into PCM signal of E1, with a rate up to 1984Kbps (time slot 0 is used to transmit synchronizing information). Subscriber data is put within E1 frame, occupying only the needed time slot. Time slot is distributed freely according to the demand of the subscriber. When subscriber data rate is up to 2048Kbps, line transmission is of full transparent mode, i.e., non-framing structure.

UPCOM HPC-FE1-4ETH Protocol converter is an Ethernet bridge of high performance, which accomplishes the convert between the 4*100M Ethernet port and the E1 port. As an extended device of the Ethernet, the FE1-4*100BASE-TX protocol converter realizes interconnection of two Ethernet by using the E1 channel provided by existing networks with low cost.

HPC-FE1-4ETH Converters are provided at the end of Ethernet LAN to accomplish various functions including MAC address self-learning, address filtering, address table maintenance and flow control.

E1 interfaces conforming to ITU-T G.703 and G.704 proposals are provided at the end of WAN, supporting RJ45 and BNC connection modes. The E1 ports support both Framed and Unframed architecture. The user can select an operating mode for the E1 interface according to the connected E1 environment. This provides flexibility of network application. In the framing mode, the E1 interface provides a rate of N*64Kbps（N=1~31）. In the Unframed mode, the E1 channel provides a rate of 2.048Mbps and accomplishes transparent transmission.

HPC-FE1-4ETH protocol converter is used in the framing mode, the transmission clock can be either provided internally, i.e. using the main clocking timing mode (INT), or extracted from the E1 channel, i.e. using slave clock timing mode.

HPC-FE1-4ETH protocol converter provides plenty of self-test functions, supporting local loop and remote loop. It also provides pseudo random code test function to test error codes in the circuit.

HPC-FE1-ETH is a single port Framed E1 to Ethernet Converter (also referred to Ethernet Bridge), realizes interconnection of two Ethernet by using the E1 channel provided by existing networks, which can provide high-speed, high performance LAN to WAN connections.

The E1 interfaces comply with ITU-T G.703 and G.704 protocols, and support RJ45(120ohm, balanced) and BNC (75ohm, unbalanced) connection. There are Framed E1 and Unframed E1, The user may select any operation mode according to the environment of E1 connections. In the framed mode, the E1 interface provides a rate of N*64Kbps（N=1~31）. HPC-FE1-ETH supports DC-48V or AC220V power supply, provides various functions such as MAC address self-learning, address filtering, address table maintenance and flow control, and supports local loop and remote loop.
