1. Vortex flow

Vortex flow will directly affect the force to the turbine flow meter blade, resulting in the inaccuracy of measurement. The longer the upstream straight pipe section of turbine flow meter is, the smaller the influence of vortex flow on the instrument constant will have. Therefore, it is good to increase the length of upstream straight pipe to weaken the influence of vortex flow and ensure the accuracy.

2. Pulsating flow

Pulsating flow means that the velocity of fluid in the measurement area is a function of time, but there is a constant average value in a long enough period. The inlet pulsating flow will lead to positive error in the measurement results, that is, the measured value will be larger than the true value. When its pulsating frequency is less than the angular frequency of the impeller, the measurement results of the turbine flow meter will be close to the true value; When its pulsating frequency is greater than the angular frequency of the impeller, the measurement error will be unacceptable.

3. Viscosity

Pay attention to the following nine points when installing electromagnetic flow meter:

1. You can put the electromagnetic flow meter on anywhere according to your demands, but the electrode axis must be about horizontal;

2. The measuring tube must be fully filled with medium, and accurate measurement can be obtained only when the pipe is full. For partially filled measuring pipe, the installation method similar to the vent valve shall be adopted. Caution, do not install at the low position in order to prevent solid accumulation. Do not install the sensor at the inlet of the pump so as to prevent vacuum;

3. During installation, make sure there is enough space near the flange of the pipe;

4. The pipes on both sides of the flow meter shall be firmly supported. Do not install them in places with strong vibration;

5. In order to make the instrument with high precision and free from the interference of external potential, the sensor should have a good independent grounding wire with the grounding resistance less than 10 Ω;

6. To make the installation easier, expansion pipes can be used for large size instruments with DN > 200 to allow axial displacement of butt flange;

7. Measured from the electrode axis, the length of the shortest straight pipe in the upstream shall be 5DN, and that in the downstream be 2DN (DN represents the inner diameter of the pipeline);

8. The connection wire shall be shielded cable, and double-layer shielded cable is better. Do not let the signal converter (or power amplifier) be directly exposed to the sun. If necessary, the sun shield can be an option;

9. For the swirling or spiral flow of fluid, the upper and lower straight pipe sections shall be lengthened and the flow straightener shall be installed.

If the working of differential pressure transmitter goes out of order, how can we identify and eliminate the fault?

1. The output value of the transmitter does not go up despite the increase of pressure.

First, check whether the pressure interface is leaking gas or blocked. If not, check the wiring and the power supply. If the power supply works normally, pressurize a bit to see whether the output value changes or there are outputs at the zero position. If there is no change, it means that the transmitter goes wrong, which may be caused by the trouble of the instrument or other parts of the whole system.

2. The output signal of the transmitter is unstable.

This may be caused by the problem of pressure source. Considering the pressure source itself is unstable, this is likely resulted by that the weak anti-interference ability of the instrument or the transmitter. Serious vibration of the transmitter itself or the transmitter failure can also lead to this problem.

3. The output value of pressure transmitter does not change, or the value of pressurized transmitter changes suddenly.

If the pressure relief transmitter cannot return to zero position, it is most likely to be the problem of the seal ring of the pressure sensor. Commonly this is caused by the specification of the seal ring. After the sensor is tightened, the seal ring will be compressed into the pressure port of the transmitter and block the sensor. So, when the pressure is applied, the pressure medium cannot enter. But when the pressure is high, the seal ring will suddenly burst out, and the output value of pressure transmitter will change. The best way to eliminate this kind of fault is to remove the transmitter and check whether the zero position is normal. If it is normal, replace the sealing ring and try again.

4. The offset between the transmitter and the pointer pressure gauge is large.

It is normal to have an offset. Just ensure that the offset is in the normal range.

5. The influence on zero position output by installation position of differential pressure transmitter.

Because the measuring range of differential pressure transmitter is very small, the sensor elements themselves in the transmitter will influence the output value. The pressure sensitive parts of the transmitter should be perpendicular to the gravity when installed. After installation, adjust the zero position to the standard value.
