NOVASTAR control cards are more and more popular for that they can provide higher refresh rate and processing depth (grey level) especially in the application of small pixel pitch LED display screens.
Just like any led display control system, sometimes after a long time of operation, the control card may lose the led studio configuration file (novastar rcfg file if NOVASTAR) and couldn't get it from the original supplier. In this case, you'd need to set the parameters in the program and configure the new file.
Here we will explain how to configure this file.

1. Collect basic tech parameters of the led display hardware.
For instance, here we have two led cabinets with P10 SMD LED modules, then we install asynchronous NOVASTAR control cards, one sending card, two receive cards on them.
And I connect the sending card to the laptop with the net cable.

This P10 SMD LED screen consists of 2 cabinets. When I face it, the signal transfer sequence is from right to left.
Each cabinet consists of 9 modules 3(W)*3(H).
The size of each LED module is 320mm X 320mm, with the resolution of 32pixels X 32 pixels.
The resolution of this LED screen is 192 pixels X 96 pixels.

2. Install the software of RCFG NOVASTAR control system.
NovaLCT-Pluto and Pluto Manager is the software that you need to install for NOVASTAR asynchronous control system.

3. Configure the NOVASTAR asynchronous control card.
1. Open the software NovaLCT-Pluto, connect the sending card to the laptop with a net cable. And click “Search All Site(S)”.

So you'd need to check the IP of the Laptop, and change it to be “192.168.0. XXX” - the IP of the laptop must be in the same net segment with the IP of the sending card so that the communication between them (computer and control card) could happen.

Click "connect terminal", the laptop will be connected to the sending card.

Note: The default IP address of sending card is "192.168.0.208" which is defined in the factory, usually we don't change it.

2. User login. Key in password "admin", and you would enter the "screen config" interface.

3. Start "smart setting". Here you need to input the basic tech parameters of the LED screen.

Chip type: choose "common chip".
Actual pixel: That's the LED module resolution. As mentioned above, in this sample, each LED module is 32pixels X 32 pixels.
Scan type: It's OK to choose "unknown"if you don't know it. (Actually, there's simple way to know the scan type. If you want to learn this, please contact us.)
Cols: each cabinet has 3X3 modules. So key in 3, 3.
Module cascade type (from the front): We explained at the first ste when watch from the front, the signal transfer sequence is from right to left.

After you've filled all those tech parameters, press "Next"

4. In following steps, you need to watch the LED screen's change, and then make the right choice of what you see.

Choose "Black", press "Next". And it will get into "Auto switch status".

When the LED screen shows the right colors, click "Next"

Total 8 rows were lighting, so key in "8", and click "Next"

According to the picture above, key in "4", and click "Next".

Note: if we choose "1/2" as the "scan type" but not "unknown", this step will be skipped. So now you know that when you key in "4", it means we are "telling" the control card that the LED modules are with 1/2 scan mode.

5. In this step, we can see on the LED display screen, at first, there is one pixel brighten. (we mean only the white color)

6. Now, the smart setting is accomplished. Next we are going to do "screen configure".
In this step, we will define the sequence of the receiving cards.
We have 2 receiving cards. So it's very easy to configure them.

When we input Scan Board Columns "2" and Scan Board Rows "1"
In the area below it will appear two square areas represent 2 receiving cards.
The width and height of Scan Board Size means the resolution of the led cabinet.

1. Installation position and number of display screen
(1)Except for special circumstances, more than 95% of the audience with formal fixed seats in the venue should meet the maximum visual distance requirement.

(2)Athletes, coaches and referees (except those scoring referees in diving competitions) can easily and clearly see the content displayed on the screen.

2. Reliability
The reliability of the stadium display screen of stadiums and gymnasiums should meet the requirements of SJ/T11141-2003 5.10.

3. safety

Hello, how can we install sending card led to our led display? It is quite normal that the clients would choose to use their own PC, as the controller of LED display card. In this case, you would need to assemble the sending card and graphics card to your PC. Here we will show you the process.

Before starting, please get on hand the parts as below:

Please power off the PC and follow the steps as below:

1.Connect the DVI Graphic Card (we provide) to the PCI-E (or AGP) of the computer motherboard (mainboard, system board). Then connect the DVI Graphic Card to the PC monitor, via the VGA port.

2.Connect the Sending Card to the PCI of the computer motherboard (mainboard, system board).

3.Connect the DVI Graphic Card to the Sending Card, by the DVI cable provided.

4.Connect the Sending Card to the USB port of the computer.

5.Connect the signal cable to the Sending Card (either one of the RJ45 ports).

6.Turn on the PC, and check the indicator light of sending card. (Red on, Green flicker). You can download linsn sending card software here.

1. Keep the damp or other humid things out of the outdoor LED Screen. Power on the LED Screen with humidity that will cause the components corrosion, then the perpetual damage.

2. Do a good cleaning for the outdoor rental led display. After a long-time use, there must be lots of dust cover the screen that will
impact the viewing effect and also is bad for the electric circuit. So wipe out the dust timely, do it lightly to reduce the harm
to the minimum.

3. No water or electric conduction things in Outdoor LED Display screen. Please cut off the power immediately if water is found in
the screen or cabinet. Only re-start the LED Display after make sure the inner screen panel is dry.

4. Ensure the stable power supply voltage and good ground protection. It’s recommended do not use the outdoor LED Screen in bad weather like strong thunder and lightning days.

5. Switching sequence:
Start the control computer first, after it works normally, power on the outdoor LED Screen.
Power off the outdoor LED Screen first, then the computer.

6. Keep a regular health-checking for the outdoor LED Screen.

7. Place the master control computer of outdoor LED Screen in a clean air-condition room to ensure an ideal ventilation and heat
dissipation.

8. If any problem happens; call the technical person to look into it. Do not touch the internal wiring without professional

For example, when a led display is 30 meters away it is hard to notice the difference between pitch 10 and pitch 16. It is advised to P16mm.

The operational life of led monitor is determined by the lifetime of the LEDs. LED display companies estimate the LED lifetime to be 100,000 hours under certain operating conditions. LED Display end of lifetimes is when the frontal brightness has decreased to 50% of original brightness.

Three primary factors determine LED lifetime:
The manufacturing process of the LED
Driving (powering) method of the LED
Temperatures present at the LED die during operation

LED thermal management is vitally important to maintaining LED lifetime. Increasing the power through an LED increases brightness but reduces its lifetime due to increased heat generation. Increased exposure to higher temperature also shortens the lifetime. LED thermal management can only be done through the LED lead frame by conducting the heat to a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and by allowing airflow to cool the LED lead frame.

LED Display components must be designed to handle a wide range of outdoor environmental factors, such as temperature and humidity. All components must be coated to protect from possible corrosion.

NOVASTAR control cards are more and more popular for that they can provide higher refresh rate and processing depth (grey level) especially in the application of small pixel pitch LED display screens.
Just like any led display control system, sometimes after a long time of operation, the control card may lose the configuration rcfg file (“.rcfg” file if NOVASTAR) and couldn't get it from the original supplier. In this case, you'd need to set the parameters in the program and configure the new novastar rcfg file.
Here we will explain how to configure this file.

1. Collect basic tech parameters of the led display hardware.
For instance, here we have two led cabinets with P10 SMD LED modules, then we install asynchronous RCFG NOVASTAR control cards, one sending card, two receive cards on them.
And I connect the sending card to the laptop with the net cable.

This P10 SMD LED screen consists of 2 cabinets. When I face it, the signal transfer sequence is from right to left.
Each cabinet consists of 9 modules 3(W)*3(H).
The size of each rcfg file for led screen is 320mm X 320mm, with the resolution of 32pixels X 32 pixels.
The resolution of this LED screen is 192 pixels X 96 pixels.

2. Install the software of NOVASTAR control system.
NovaLCT-Pluto and Pluto Manager is the software that you need to install for NOVASTAR asynchronous control system.
Note: NOVASTAR synchronous control system and asynchronous control system use different software. Refer below:

3. Configure the NOVASTAR asynchronous control card.
a. Open the software NovaLCT-Pluto, connect the sending card to the laptop with a net cable. And click “Search All Site(S)”.
So you'd need to check the IP of the Laptop, and change it to be “192.168.0. XXX” - the IP of the laptop must be in the same net segment with the IP of the sending card so that the communication between them (computer and control card) could happen.
Here I change the IP address of my laptop as below:
Click "connect terminal", the laptop will be connected to the sending card.
Note: The default IP address of sending card is "192.168.0.208" which is defined in the factory, usually we don't change it.

b. User login. Key in password "admin", and you would enter the "screen config" interface.
After User Login, we can start to configure the control card.
Enter "smart setting" interface.

c. Start "smart setting". Here you need to input the basic tech parameters of the LED screen.
Chip type: choose "common chip".
Actual pixel: That's the LED module resolution. As mentioned above, in this sample, each LED module is 32pixels X 32 pixels.
Scan type: It's OK to choose "unknown"if you don't know it. (Actually, there's simple way to know the scan type. If you want to learn this, please contact us.)
Cols: each cabinet has 3X3 modules. So key in 3, 3.
Module cascade type (from the front): We explained at the first ste when watch from the front, the signal transfer sequence is from right to left.
After you've filled all those tech parameters, press "Next"

d. In following steps, you need to watch the LED screen's change, and then make the right choice of what you see.
According to the picture above, key in "4", and click "Next".
Note: if we choose "1/2" as the "scan type" but not "unknown", this step will be skipped. So now you know that when you key in "4", it means we are "telling" the control card that the LED modules are with 1/2 scan mode.

e. In this step, we can see on the LED display screen, at first, there is one pixel brighten. (we mean only the white color)
Then we can find the location of the white pixel in below chart accordingly - row 5, column 8, that is position "A".
Now follow the sequence of the brighten pixel shown on the LED display screen, click the correspondent position on the chart one by one to finish this process.

f. Now, the smart setting is accomplished. Next we are going to do "screen configure".
In this step, we will define the sequence of the receiving cards.
We have 2 receiving cards. So it's very easy to configure them.
When we input Scan Board Columns "2" and Scan Board Rows "1"
In the area below it will appear two square areas represent 2 receiving cards.
The width and height of Scan Board Size means the resolution of the led cabinet.
Here it is 96X96 pixels.
The arrow in the black square means the sequence of receiving card is from right to left.
And click "send to HW"
The led studio configuration of the NOVASTAR asynchronous control card is now finished.

LED Display Overview
A LED display uses light-emitting diodes as a video display. Just like a big TV which can be used both outdoor and indoor.
It is widely used in the hall, hotel, exhibition room, showcase, square, sculptures, symbols, building etc. Because of LED display dynamic and constantly changing, vivid images and videos, live to broadcast, etc many advantages.
Nowadays is most popular for advertising purpose and showing purpose.
The first question before buying a Led display is "where will it be used, Indoor or Outdoor?"

LED Display Pixel Pitch
One of the most important knowledge when you buy a Led Display.
Pitch stands in distance between the pixels. Example P10 = distance between pixels =10mm.
Pixel can exist of more leds. In Full-color solution, they have 3 leds in 1 pixels (Red Green Blue)
Pitch will determine the viewing distance and the led panel resolution. The smaller the pitch the smaller the viewing distance.
To determine the right led pixel size is not easy. First, you have to determine the viewing distance before you can choose the pitch. Indoor will mostly have a small pitch. (P3-P10) because the minimum viewing distance is small. Outdoor will have a bigger pitch. (starting from P10...)

LED Display Resolution
Resolution is the basic measurement of how much information a screen shows based on the total number of pixels within the display area and is a significant factor in determining image quality.
The led screen resolution of Led display device is the number of distinct pixels in each dimension that can be displayed.
It is usually quoted as width × height, with the units in pixels: for example, "1024×768" means the width is 1024 pixels and the height is 768 pixels.
When the Led Display should display clear text. The resolution is very important (like information displays) Most characters on an information display should be around 8 leds high and 5 leds width.
In order to show a good video effect on led display, it will need total resolution 50,000 pixels at least.

Hello, how can we install sending card led to our led display card? It is quite normal that the clients would choose to use their own PC, as the controller of LED display. In this case, you would need to assemble the sender card led and graphics card to your PC. Here we will show you the process.

Before starting, please get on hand the parts as below:
Please power off the PC and follow the steps as below:
1.Connect the DVI Graphic Card (we provide) to the PCI-E (or AGP) of the computer motherboard (mainboard, system board). Then connect the DVI Graphic Card to the PC monitor, via the VGA port.

2.Connect the Sending Card to the PCI of the computer motherboard (mainboard, system board).

3.Connect the DVI Graphic Card to the Sending Card, by the DVI cable provided.

4.Connect the Sending Card to the USB port of the computer.

5.Connect the signal cable to the Sending Card (either one of the RJ45 ports).

6.Turn on the PC, and check the indicator light of sending card. (Red on, Green flicker). You can download linsn sender card software here.

1. Keep the damp or other humid things out of the outdoor LED Screen. Power on the LED Screen with humidity that will cause the components corrosion, then the perpetual damage.

2. Do a good cleaning for the outdoor led screen maintenance. After a long-time use, there must be lots of dust cover the screen that will
impact the viewing effect and also is bad for the electric circuit. So wipe out the dust timely, do it lightly to reduce the harm
to the minimum.

4. Ensure the stable power supply voltage and good ground protection. It’s recommended do not use the outdoor LED Screen in bad weather like strong thunder and lightning days.

5. Switching sequence:
Start the control computer first, after it works normally, power on the outdoor LED Screen.
Power off the outdoor LED Screen first, then the computer.
6. Keep a regular health-checking for the outdoor LED Screen.

7. Place the master control computer of outdoor LED Screen in a clean air-condition room to ensure an ideal ventilation and heat
dissipation.

8. If any problem happens; call the technical person to look into it. Do not touch the internal wiring without professional
knowledge.

Brand of LEDs: the main cost of the Led display is in the LEDs. The more LEDs the higher the price. Most famous brand around the world is Nichia, Cree, etc. The rice is 2-4 times more expansive than LEDs from China (Silan, Opto, Epistar, etc). So the display price will also increase by 2-4 times.
