Scanners are very important digital devices. The salient feature is that the scanned image will not be distorted, and the scanner can obtain extremely high resolution. This is an advantage unmatched by devices such as digital cameras and high-speed cameras that require optical lenses. But many readers do not know how to use the scanner. Some users have scanners, but they don’t know how to use them. Here we will introduce the basic usage methods and some tips to the novice users.
If it is a separate scanner, it is necessary to point out a very important point: In order to prevent damage to important photosensitive devices during transportation, the new scanner has a photoreceptor lock, which must be unlocked before use! Otherwise, when the motor drives the exposed parts, it may be damaged due to locking.
Be sure to pay attention to the CCD lock of the independent scanner!
After installing the scanner driver correctly, in the start menu, we find the corresponding program.
In this interface, the user can set various options for scanning. The options for scanners with primary scanning capabilities are not complicated. For some specialized flatbed scanners, there will be more complicated options, such as choosing whether the depth of the color is 8-bit or 16-bit, whether to remove the printed screen, or whether to remove the photo yellowing. Scanning resolution is the most critical option. Even with a resolution of 300dpi, the files generated by scanning A4 size white paper are already large enough. Unless you are scanning negatives, don't easily scan with a resolution above 1200dpi. Otherwise, not only will it take a long time, but the volume of the generated file will be huge.
The file save type is a matter that needs attention. If it is only to solve the problem of the presence or absence of the image, it can be scanned into an image in “.jpeg” format. If you are scanning photos or negatives and want to process them further, it is best to save them in “.tiff” format, because this is a lossless image format. Although it is large, it will not be compressed and can save more color information.
