Orientation sub is a major power deflection tool having a fixed angle deviated from low end thread of the bent sub to axial line of drill stem, the power drill tool under the application of oriented sub give the bit a constant lateral force to ensure that the bit can cut on the well wall laterally and further drill into a curved well trace.

Features:
Oriented sub is a special device for indirect orientation method to convey the orientation relationship between the orienter and the slanting device. It is characterized in that an orientation mark (such as an orientation key) is disposed thereon. When in use, the directional joint is inserted into the hole with the slanting device, and the subsequent directional directional device establishes a fixed relationship with the slanting device through the slanting device (for example, the shovel and the directional key are automatically aligned), thereby realizing the slanting Orientation of the appliance. When the directional joint and the slanting device are connected to the ground, it is necessary to accurately measure the fit difference and count it into the determination of the tool face angle.

Oil country tubular goods (OCTG) is a family of seamless rolled products consisting of drill pipe, casing and tubing subjected to loading conditions according to their specific application:

Drill pipe is heavy seamless tube that rotates the drill bit and circulates drilling fluid. Pipe segments 30 ft (9m) long are coupled with tool joints. Drill pipe is simultaneously subjected to high torque by drilling, axial tension by its dead weight, and internal pressure by purging of drilling fluid. Additionally, alternating bending loads due to non-vertical or deflected drilling may be superimposed on these basic loading patterns.

Casing pipe lines the borehole. It is subject to axial tension by its dead weight, internal pressure by fluid purging, and external pressure by surrounding rock formations. Casing is particularly exposed to axial tension and internal pressure by the pumped oil or gas emulsion.

Tubing is pipe through which the oil or gas is transported from the wellbore. Tubing segments are generally around 30 ft [9 m] long with a threaded connection on each end.

Corrosion resistance under sour service conditions is a very important OCTG characteristic, especially for casing and tubing.

Typical Manufacturing Processes of China OCTG
Continuous mandrel-rolling process and the push bench process for sizes between 21 and 178 mm OD.

Plug mill rolling for sizes between 140 and 406 mm OD.

Cross-roll piercing and pilger rolling for sizes between 250 and 660 mm OD.

These processes typically do not allow the thermomechanical processing customary for the strip and plate products used for welded pipe. Therefore, high-strength seamless pipe must be produced by increasing the alloying content in combination with a suitable heat treatment such as quench & tempering.

Meeting the fundamental requirement of a fully martensitic microstructure even at large pipe wall thickness requires good hardenability. Cr and Mn are the main alloying elements used to produce good hardenability in conventional heat-treatable steel. However, the requirement for good sulphide stress cracking (SSC) resistance limits their use. Mn tends to segregate during continuous casting and can form large MnS inclusions that reduce hydrogen induced cracking (HIC) resistance. Higher levels of Cr can lead to formation of Cr7C3 precipitates with coarse plate-shaped morphology, which act as hydrogen collectors and crack initiators. Alloying with Molybdenum can overcome the limitations of Mn and Cr alloying. Mo is a much stronger hardener than Mn and Cr, so it can easily recover the effect of a reduced amount of these elements.

Traditionally, OCTG grades were carbon-manganese steels (up to the 55-ksi strength level) or Mo-containing grades up to 0.4% Mo. In recent years, deep well drilling and reservoirs containing contaminants that cause corrosive attack have created a strong demand for higher strength materials resistant to hydrogen embrittlement and SCC. Highly tempered martensite is the structure most resistant to SSC at higher strength levels, and 0.75% is the Mo concentration that produces the optimum combination of yield strength and to SSC resistance(1).

The drill pipe is the steel pipe with thread at the end, for connecting the drill ground equipment and drilling equipment in drilling bottom or bottom hole device. The drill pipe is the device which used to transport drilling mud to drilling bit, and improve, bring down or rotary bottom hole with drilling bit together. The drill rod must be able to withstand a great deal of internal and external pressure, twisting, bending and vibration. The drill rod is formed by friction welding between the drill pipe and the tool joint. The drill pipe end is upsetting process, the internal and external thickness of pipe end get upsetting, Drill pipe joints are threaded and treated by surface treatment (phosphating or copper plating). Through friction welding, the upsetting drill pipe body is connected with the joint, and the mechanical property of the welding zone is improved by annealing and quenching & tempering of the welding seam. After quenching & tempering, according to the different steel grades or customers' requirements, the destructive mechanical properties test is carried out according to the proportion sampling. There are other tests before painting and packing of the finished pipe, including the end of the path, 90 degree hook tool inspection, weld seam surface hardness test, the tube weld bending test, non-destructive testing and measuring & weighing.

According to the requirements of API Spec 5DP first edition, the length of drill pipe is R1:6.10~7.01m, R2:8.84~9.75m, R3:12.19~13.72m. The length of drill pipe is generally R2 range.

Features of Integral Sprial Heavy Weight Drill Pipe:
Heavy weight drill pipe is a medium-weight drill tool similar to drill pipe, whose wall is thicker than that of drill pipe and thinner than that of drill collar. The tie-back assembly is a special cementing tool for tieback operation.

Tieback equipment allows existing liners with a receptacle to be extended to the surface or farther up hole, and provides a high-pressure seal at the top of a cemented or uncemented liner. TIW offers variety of tieback seal nipples and tieback packers to accommodate liner top extension and remedial operations. Today, some new types of drilling liner tieback equipment are developed due to the annular gas channeling in high-pressure oil-gas well even after tie back cementing.

A. Preparation before casing

Measure and drift the casings carefully and clean all the threads.

Calculate the kelly-up of the casing (the particular part of the last casing which is above the rotary table) and arrange the casing string.

Prepare several casings, which are approximately 0.5m shorter than the others and convenient for kelly-up calibration. (The actual kelly-up is not equal to the calculated value due to measurement error and the remaining threads of the casings.)

B. Polishing the polished bore receptacle

Connect the milling shoe and trip in. Polish the inner surface of the polished bore receptacle, make sure there is no debris.

Note the depth of the milling shoe when it reaches the top of the seal assembly (judge from the changes on pressure and WOB). Then lift the drill string for 1m.

Use a drilling rate of 40～50rpm and a normal flow rate. Slowly lower the drill string. Polish the inner surface of the polished bore receptacle twice or three times. Each time polish 3～4min. During the last polishing, apply an additional load of 2～3t when the torque suddenly increases (the milling shoe reaches the top of the seal assembly) during the last polishing. Polish for another 2~3min and note the depth of the milling shoe, which is an important clue for the casing setting depth.

Circulate with high flow rate for 5min.

Trip out and check the milling shoe. If there is a circle of polished trace and the diameter is equal to the I.D. of the left thread on the seal assembly, then the milling shoe have reached the bottom of the polished bore receptacle.

The casing spool assembly comprises shell and pack off bushing and is used to seal the annular clearance between polished nipple and liner hanger body so as to build pressure after the ball reaches the landing collar, preventing current from passing through upward. There are sinistral-threads on the top of connecting setting tool.

A setting tool and liner hanger where the liner hanger has a threaded release section and elongated slip slots for receiving slips. The slips have inclined tongue and groove interconnections along the sides of the slots defining expander surfaces. The setting tool has a hydraulic actuator and a mechanical actuator respectively having dog members releasably connected to upper and lower internal grooves in the slip members. The hydraulic actuator operates in response to hydraulic pressure for moving connected dog member for setting the slips in a well casing.

Upon release of the coupling nut on the setting tool from the liner hanger, the mechanical actuator is deactuated and both dog members are released from the slips so that the setting tool is releasable from the liner hanger.

The mechanical actuator operates in response to relative rotation between the setting tool mandrel and liner hanger for moving connected dog members and the slips to a setting condition. The tool is raised to a location to set the slips and to release the setting tool from the liner hanger.

SAIGAO GROUP reamer shoe drilling is designed for demanding downhole applications and is ideal for well bore condition with severe doglegs, high build rates, and extended horizontal runs. The selection of Float Shoes accompanied with a variety of aluminium eccentric noses offer downhole solutions when dealing with well-bore conditions that involve ledges or sloughing.

Performance Features of Reamer Shoe

Equipped with a Cut-Rite carbide cutting material structure to help eliminate any obstructions and to keep from having to pull the casing to make another wiper run by assuring near gauge hole when running casing.

A tapered composite nose is standard with high-port up jet and down-jet nose options to help Jet away filter cake and low side debris in horizontal and deviated well-bores.

For use with and without rotation.

Specially built to fit any casing and hole size combinations.

The reamer shoe for drilling operation is equipped with a standard enclosed down-jet nose with an aggressive cutting structure.

For positive choke valve, special tools are adopted to replace oil nozzle. In this way, flow section can be controlled to control flow fluid. Choke oil nozzle is manufactured with ceramic or cemented carbide, which is characterized as wearing resistance and erosion resistance, which is convenient to replace with special tool. Valve body and valve bonnet are connected with union,which make it easy to replace oil nozzle.

Features of Positive Choke Valve:

The positive choke can be divided into an adjustable throttle valve and a fixed throttle valve according to the structure, and the fixed throttle body and the adjustable flow valve body can be interchanged. According to the principle of operation, it is divided into manual throttle valve and hydraulic throttle valve. The bonnet and valve body are metal and metal sealed. Among them, the fixed throttle valve nozzle, the adjustable throttle valve stem, the valve core and the valve seat are all made of hard alloy, which has the characteristics of wear resistance, erosion resistance and reliable operation. According to the function, it can be divided into a needle-shaped adjustable flow valve and a cylindrical adjustable oil well choke valve. The needle-shaped adjustable choke valve wellhead is mainly used for oil (gas) wellhead device for oil (gas) adjustment; the tubular adjustable flow valve is mainly used for throttling and killing manifold, and for controlling fluid pressure in the well.
