「アルテ・ポーヴェラは『脱文化』へ、図像学以前の時代のイメージへの回帰へと向かう、再生のための現象である。平凡なもの、元素的なもの、デモクリトス的な統合としての自然、そして『生理学的断片、意識の断片』としての人間への讃歌である」

スイスのキュレーター、ジャン＝クリストフ・アマンはこう述べている「アルス・ポーヴェラ（著者はarteの代わりにarsとつづっている）とはつまり、技術社会に対抗して詩的なメッセージに憧れ、そのメッセージをもっとも単純な手段で表現するアートである。想像力から生まれた材料を用いた、もっとも単純で自然な摂理とプロセスへのこのような回帰は、工業化社会における自己の再点検にほかならない」
