ジーンズ大手の「EDWIN」が事業再生ADR手続を申請
(2013年11月27日)東京都荒川区に本拠を置く国内最大手のジーンズメーカー「エドウイン」は、11月26日付で事業再生実務家協会に事業再生ADR手続を申請したことが明らかになりました。
1947年に「常見米八商店」として創業の同社は、中古ジーンズの輸入販売を手掛ける一方、1960年代に日本で初めてジーンズの製造・販売に進出し、その後はジーンズブランド「EDWIN」を中心に国内ジーンズメーカーとしての確固たる地位を築きました。
しかし、景気低迷による個人消費の落ち込みや低価格ブランドの台頭などで業績が悪化すると、不適切な会計処理に伴う損失の存在が明るみに出るなど経営不振に陥ったため、取引金融機関を含めた再建手法のあり方について議論が必要と判断し今回の申請に至ったようです。
