Based on visual inspection technology, Intelligentlaser has developed a complete seam tracking solution for stir friction welding. The sensor can acquire an accurate position by scanning and then guide the robot to weld. In the meanwhile, the system can work with the movement of the mixing head, which realize the visual sensing in Y direction and pressure sensing in Z direction. It is very flexible because it can weld for 1D, 2D and 3D structure. Also, it can weld the seam without burrs which not only lower the cost efficient but also save the labor from polishing.
