Prior to getting into WOW Classic


Blizzard is considering bringing back one of the most controversial components of WOW Classic--also Asmongold thinks it may be the most effective available option.The COVID-19 pandemic has spawned a resurgence of activity on several popular World of Warcraft Classic servers, which has resulted in several popular realms using long lineup times. Population realms such as Faeralina, which will be home to Twitch streamers that were most notable, have had occasions. Some WOW players will need to wait hours prior to getting into WOW Classic, depending on if they attempted to log into.

As a means to combat that matter, Blizzard made a post now, bringing forward a notion it implemented in WOW Classic's launch when servers were at their most active. To create it so more people might play, Blizzard added"layering," which basically meant that every server had distinct"layers," which makes it so that the realm will hold more people inside without being spat. "While I can only name half-a-dozen realms within this area that really have extended queues at this time, I would not be surprised to see a couple more realms experience queue growth in this remarkable period we are living in," Blizzard community director Kaivax said.

Kaivax asked feedback from WOW players about how they'd feel about temporarily raising the number of layers for high-population realms to 2 to shorten queue times. While lots of WOW Classic originalists don't enjoy the notion of layering because it is technically a change from how WoW was when it first came out, Asmongold said on stream now he doesn't mind the idea in any way. In fact, he's an advocate for the reimplementation. "It is not a question," Asmon explained. "There is no reason to not take action."

On the other end of the spectrum, many people have expressed concern that layering a realm into several instances at the same time could be disruptive to its economy. In WOW Classic, unlike retail WoW, farming raw materials in the open planet was significantly more significant. And with no WoW token that could be bought in-game to increase a individual's purchasing power with real-life cash, open-world farming has more importance. However, Asmon considers that WOW Classic purists are living in a state of denial. He thinks that the legitimate vanilla experience can not be recaptured due to how populated servers really are and just how far more educated the player base is all about WOW Classic now because of greater access to online resources.

He claims back in vanilla WoW, servers had significantly fewer active WOW players on them, making it much more realistic for the kingdom's single layer to provide each the tools WOW players desired. Now, that is not true since requirement for extremely limited funds, like the Black Lotus herb, distorts WOW Classic's economy in a means that wasn't as much the case in 2005 when WOW Classic came out. "I don't think layering is a major deal," Asmon said. "I really think layering would be good for WOW Classic at this point. While Asmongold doesn't love the idea of layering, he thinks it's the lesser of two evils. "Would you rather have your finger cut off or your hand cut off?" He said. "Your hand is queues, and your finger is layering. I have my finger cut off. Obviously one of them is worse, but that does not mean the other is great. Layering isn't a fantastic solution, however, layering is far better than using ridiculously-overpriced materials and also a two to three-hour queue"

Blizzard hasn't yet announced plans to implement any layering on any servers, but the idea being floated about by a community manager suggests that it is certainly on the table. With Blizzard being particularly cautious with the way they treat WOW Classic because of how vocal that participant base is, the community's answer in the coming days will surely determine whether this notion is executed.
