Drawing on digital ethnographic data and interviews with 41 members of the love and small breast sex doll community, I explore how owners of love and small breast sex dolls explain their transgressive sexual behaviour. I argue that these narratives reveal the adult dolls' owners' underlying sexual self-project, which I call the silicone self. I analyse the silicone selves to show how members of the adult sex doll community manage stigma by emphasising sexual individualism and drawing on pro-sex, feminist and anti-feminist discourses. I further highlight the tensions within the community that arise from conflicting views of gender and sexuality.
