Swivel
Chain Swivel is an optional wire rope attachment instead of chain hook when making a chain sling. This swivel is used to connect two pieces chains together where the both ends need to move in reverse direction or to adjust the direction of the lifting chain. It is also been used as a end fitting of the chain slings to attach on the object that need to be free rotation during handling.

Type of Chain Swivels
According to the connecting method, chain swivels had eye+eye (ring+ring) type, jaw+jaw(clevis type) and eye+jaw type. Eye type is for permanent attachment where you do not need to remove the chain swivels after work and can use same slings for repeated job. Clevis type is more used in the slings where you need to frequently change the end fittings.

According to the material difference, chain swivels has carbon steel one and stainless steel one. Carbon steel chain swivels are used to connect with grade 8/grade 10 alloy steel lifting chain or anchor chains. While stainless steel chain swivels are used with same material chains. For stainless steel, we have AISI304, AISI316 and AISI316L for choice.

According to different specification, chain swivels are also constructed in different shape. The most selling chain swivels in the market is European type chain swivels and US type chain Swivels.
