Blizzard explains potential changes to classic wow gold AoE damage in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Throughout the launch of this expansion's alpha yesterday, data miners found strategies for changes to the way that area of effect (AoE) skills could work when
Shadowlands drops in the fall--and the instant response from top-level players was less than exciting.

Data demonstrated that lots of AoE skills, especially those for melee classes, had been restricted to just be effected on a certain number of enemies. Formerly, those abilities did not have caps.

In a short article on Twitter, World First guild Complexity Limit's GM Maximum just replied to the news saying,"Capping AoE is poor."

Last night, however, Blizzard appeared to explain its conclusion following an outpouring of voiced concern from the community. In a forum post, the developer said that as electricity creeping continues in WoW, the"dominant tactic" for situations in dungeons and questing has been to pull bigger and larger groups of enemies to cleave down all at one time.

The strategy, while effective, has made the match lose some degree of nuance. Ultimately, it's made it hard for some classes to discover a role in cases.

"In Shadowlands, we're taking a look at changes that could broaden the field of tactical alternatives, and in the process, more clearly distinguish the strengths of classes in many different AoE scenarios," Blizzard said.
