1. Brief introduction of disc suspension insulator
Disc suspension insulators are one of the insulators. They are commonly used in power systems. There are two main ways to connect them: ball and socket type connection and groove type connection. This article will introduce these two connection methods.
2. Two connection methods of disc suspension insulator
(1) The upper end of the iron cap of the ball and socket type connection is a bowl head (ball socket), and the lower end of the steel foot is a ball head. When the insulator and the insulator or between the insulator and the hardware are connected, the ball head is inserted into the ball socket and then inserted into the W-shaped or R-shaped steel pins to avoid falling. The ball and socket connection has no directionality, has a large winding degree and can be rolled, convenient for loading and unloading, which is conducive to live work. Generally, this connection structure of disc suspension insulator is used.
(2)The upper end of the grooved-shaped iron cap is a double-joint plate, and the lower end of the steel foot is a single-joint plate. The insulator and the insulator or between the insulator and the fittings are connected by cylindrical pins or bolts with split pin holes. The trough structure fittings are relatively simple, and are generally used on overhead ground wires and power distribution lines. In order to meet the needs of special circumstances, many manufacturers also produce a hybrid insulator, the upper end of the iron cap is a bowl head, and the lower end of the steel foot is a flange. In order to avoid corrosion of metal accessories, iron caps and steel feet are all hot-dip galvanized, and the R-shaped steel pins of heavy-duty insulators are made of stainless steel.
