Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), founded in 1955, is a university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education (MOE) and co-built by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). BUPT is one of the first "Project 211” universities. BUPT has also joined the "Project 985 Innovation Platform for Superior Discipline".

BUPT is based at the capital of China, Beijing is famous for its political effects as well as its fantastic scenic spots. During the study, international students will have a chance to visit the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, the History Museum, the Beijing Zoo, Beihai Park and many other historical places.

BUPT is a comprehensive university with information technology as its main feature, engineering and science as its main focus and a combination of engineering, management, humanities and sciences as its main pursuit, which becomes an important base for fostering high-tech talents.

BUPT has over two thousand staff in total, including 9 academicians, 1420 full-time teachers (85 percent of them with master or doctor degree), 4 distinguished Chang Jiang Scholars, 21 national experts with outstanding contributions.

BUPT attaches great importance to the exchanges and cooperation with other higher education institutions both at home and abroad and has established inter-university academic exchange programs with over 70 universities form 40 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, France, Japan, Korea and those from the regions of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

Over the past 27 years, BUPT has trained students from more than 40 countries all over five continents, such as, US, Canada, Cuba, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Pakistan, India, Iran, UK, French, Germany, Austria, Holland, Swiss, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Russia and so on. It has also trained large amounts of qualified and excellent language learners before their enrollments to undergraduate and graduate studies in BUPT as well as other universities in Beijing. At the same time, BUPT has trained many brilliant employees for companies both at home and abroad, working in various areas such as China telecommunications, trade, cultural communications and education.

There are a few restaurants in BUPT, such as Student Canteen, Huifeng Restaurant, Xueyi Restaurant, providing various delicious dishes to students and staff. All the restaurants are open to the international students and guests. We also have Qingzhen Restaurant which is a newly built restaurant especially for Muslim. Additionally, there are many restaurants and fast food restaurants around the university, such as Fuwangju Restaurant, Ganguoyatou Restaurant .

Life is very convenient in BUPT. There are lots of Supermarket where you can buy daily necessities and food on campus; there are many large shopping malls around the school, such as Wumei Supermarket, MerryMart Supermarket .

Here is free WIFI around the campus and in the International Dorm. You can also go to the library or Internet cafes outside the university.
