Under the pressure of the upper or lower model of the bending machine, the sheet metal bending process first undergoes elastic deformation and then enters plastic deformation. At the beginning of plastic bending, the sheet is free to bend. As the upper model or the lower model exerts pressure on the sheet material, the sheet material and the inner surface of the V-shaped groove of the lower die gradually come close to each other. At the same time, the radius of curvature and the bending force arm gradually become smaller, and the pressurization continues until the end of the stroke, so that the upper and lower models are in full contact with the plate at three points. At this point, a V-shaped bend is completed, which is what we commonly call a bend.
