Bicomponent fibers are two or more polymer melts, split by a special distribution plate, and extruded through the same spinneret hole. There are hundreds of types of Bicomponent fibers, and there are many classification methods. According to the production method, they can be divided into composite spinning and blended spinning.

According to the spinning form, there are 5 commonly used types: co-spinning, side-by-side, skin-core, Splinter type, island type. Polyester spinning/Nylon Bicomponent fiber, which not only has the advantages of Nylon's wear resistance, high strength, easy dyeing, and moisture absorption, but also has the advantages of good Polyester elasticity, good shape retention, stiffness, and non-ironing.

Bicomponent Yarn Machine Application
Generally, the Bicomponent spinning is mainly composed of polyester & nylon, with orange petals, rice-shaped, and other special-shaped cross-sections, and has good moisture absorption. Bicomponent Yarn is mainly used in cleaning products, home textile products, etc. In addition, the low melting point, flame retardant, antistatic, and conductive functions of many fibers are also achieved through the special structure of composite spinning.

Application Situation of Polyester/Nylon Bicomponent Micro Fiber:

Velvet fabric

Manufacturing artificial leather

Imitation silk fa

High-performance clean cloth

Fashion fabric

Knitted fabric

Bicomponent Yarn Machine Performance and Advantages

Polyester/Nylon Bicomponente Mocro fiber uses the difference in chemical structure of PET and PA polymers, and the characteristics of weak interfacial bonding and can be separated from each other, and are melted and spun at a certain ratio during the yarn manufacturing machine's production process. Generally, antibacterial superfine fibers are blended or masterbatches added with antibacterial agents to chemical fibers to obtain a durable antibacterial effect.

The melt-spinning method adopts the masterbatch addition method to produce melt-spun antibacterial polyester/polyamide (80/20) composite superfine fiber. The antibacterial masterbatch is added to the polyester component at a ratio of about 2% of the base material. The process route adopts Bicomponent fiber high-speed spinning technology, and the POY-DTY two-step process is applied to produce fibers with good physical and mechanical properties. The average single fiber of the fiber produced by this method is about 0.2 dtex, which is equivalent to 1/5-1/10 of silk, which can give fabrics good physical and chemical properties, and is popularized and applied in textile cleaning products and clothing industries.

Bicomponent Yarn Spinning Process

Bicomponent and multicomponent fibers refer to fibers spun from two or more polymers with different chemical or physical properties. In the simplest two-component spinning process, two extruders are used to melt the chips. The polymer melt is introduced into the spinning bag or the spinning hole respectively to spin into filaments. Bicomponent yarn spinning is the most commonly used method to produce industrial synthetic fibers. The two component fiber adopts melt drawing process similar to conventional synthetic fiber. The main purpose of two-component melt spinning is to take advantage of the mechanical, physical or chemical properties of both materials to expand the range of possible applications.
