A deep pot magnet is a type of pot magnet. The magnet is housed in a cylindrical housing, usually made of galvanized steel or copper-zinc alloy and brass. The deep pot magnets can be glued in, pressed in, or shrunk in.
The magnetic core of the deep pot magnets
The cores of deep pot magnets are made of neodymium (NdFeB), samarium cobalt (SmCo) or aluminum-nickel-cobalt (Alnico) alloys. Depending on the material used, deep basin magnets have different bonding forces and respond differently to high-temperature requirements.
● Although, Alnico magnets have a good suction force, NdFeB magnets have the strongest suction force. SmCo falls between the other two magnet systems.
● With regard to temperature resistance, the opposite is true. Alnico magnets tolerate the most heat and NdFeB magnets are the least heat resistant. Magnets reach the following maximum operating temperatures: NdFeB 80°C / SmCo 250°C / Alnico 450°C.

What do you have to pay attention to when installing deep pot magnets?

When installing a deep pot magnet -- it does not matter whether the housing is galvanized or made of brass, but it is important to ensure that it is not directly surrounded by iron. Iron reduces the suction power by 15%. So a gap of a few millimeters between the casing and the surrounding iron needs to be left to solve this problem.
The pole side of the deep pot magnets should always be kept clean, which ensures maximum effectiveness when you apply or separate it from the surface. The holding power of the magnets will also be reduced if it is used on an uneven, painted surface.
