VTM(virus transport medium) is for the collection and transportation of clinical virus samples.
On the basis of Hank's, gentamicin and polymyxin B were added to inhibit the growth of competitive bacteria and yeast, maintain the activity of the virus, and reduce the decomposition rate of the virus. Cryopreservation protectants can freeze the samples to extend the storage time and help to preserve the virus.
Main components are Hank's equilibrium salt solution, gentamicin, polymyxin B, cryoprotectant.
