Good preparation
Before using the scanner, it is necessary for average users to have a preliminary understanding of the basic principles of the scanner, which will greatly contribute to the correct and reasonable use of the scanner. The scanner acquires the image by irradiating the light onto the picture or document to be scanned. After the light is reflected, it is received by the photosensitive element -- CCD (Charge Coupled Device) or CIS(Contact Image Sensor). Due to the different colors of the image, the intensity of the reflected light is also different. The photosensitive element can receive the light of various intensities and convert it into binary digital signals. Finally, the software controlling the scanning restores these data into images that can be seen on the display.

In order to reflect the image objectively and truly, it is necessary to ensure that the light can smoothly shine on the manuscript to be scanned. We suggest that everyone can turn on the scanner to preheat for 5 to 10 minutes before scanning, so that the lamps in the machine can reach a uniform luminous state, which can ensure that the light can shine evenly on every part of the manuscript. In addition, do not affect the scanning quality due to the inclination or vibration of the scanner. Users should try to find a relatively flat and stable place to place the scanner. It is absolutely inadvisable for some users to place the scanner directly above the chassis to save office space. At present, some scanners have realized vertical scanning and are equipped with special scanner supports, thus effectively saving office space. In addition, carefully check whether there are stains on the glass before scanning. If there are stains, wipe them clean with a soft cloth to avoid affecting the scanning effect.

Indispensable pre-scanning
In order to save scanning time, some users often ignore the pre-scanning step for convenience. In fact, the pre-scanning before a formal scan is very necessary. It is the first barrier to ensure the scanning effect. Pre-scanning has two advantages. First, we can directly determine the area that we need to scan after pre-scanning, so as to reduce the processing procedure of the image after scanning. Second, we can roughly see the color and effect of the image by observing the pre-scanned image. If we are not satisfied, we can reset and adjust the scanning parameters before scanning.

Due to the working principle of the scanner, the scanned image will have distortion or deformation more or less. Therefore, a good manuscript is especially important for obtaining a high-quality scanning effect, while a poor-quality manuscript, even though the scanning effect can be improved through software processing, it is ultimately too late. As for those badly defaced images, no matter how to deal with them, the expected results cannot be obtained. Therefore, we must try our best to scan the originals with excellent quality. For some small-sized manuscripts, they should be placed in the center of the scanner as far as possible, which can reduce the occurrence of deformation.
