1. Organic Pigments
Pigments made from colored organic compounds are called organic pigments. Organic pigments refer to a class of pigments made from organic compounds that have color and a range of other pigment properties. Pigment properties include light fastness, water immersion resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, organic solvent resistance, heat resistance, crystal stability, dispersibility and hiding power.

2. Difference Between Organic And Inorganic Pigments
The difference between organic and inorganic pigments and dyes is that they have no affinity with the object to be colored, and only the organic colour pigments are attached to the surface of the object through adhesives or film-forming substances or mixed inside the object to color the object. The intermediates, production equipment and synthesis process required for its production are similar to the production of dyes, so organic pigments are often organized in the dye industry. Compared organic pigments vs inorganic pigments, organic pigments usually have higher tinting strength, the particles are easy to grind and disperse, not easy to precipitate, and the color is brighter, but the light fastness, heat resistance and weather resistance are poor. Organic pigments are widely used in the coloring of materials such as inks, coatings, rubber products, plastic products, stationery and building materials.

3. Overview
The organic color pigments are mainly azo pigments and phthalocyanine pigments, which account for more than 90% of the total organic pigments. The origin is mainly in Western Europe, the United States and Japan, and varieties such as aniline yellow G, toluidine red, lake red, and phthalocyanine are produced in China.

Pigments have a wide range of uses. Inorganic pigments are the main raw materials of coatings, such as architectural coatings, metal surface coatings and wood coatings are inseparable from titanium dioxide, chromium oxide, chrome yellow, etc. Titanium dioxide, chrome oxide yellow, ultramarine blue, and titanium yellow are used as colorants for plastics due to their heat resistance, light resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and migration resistance. Pigments are also used as organic pigment for printing ink because of their good flow and tinting strength. In addition, pigments are also used in rubber, paper, chemical fiber, painting, glass and other aspects.

4. Development Trend
①The development of pigments from general-purpose to special-purpose;
② Process improvements to improve quality and reduce costs have attracted more attention;
③ Strengthen the awareness of environmental protection and vigorously develop low-toxic pigments;
④ The production process is increasingly mechanized, automated and controlled by microcomputers.

Organic pigments are widely used and the demand is increasing day by day, so people are devoted to the development of natural organic pigments. In terms of its development trend, it has the following characteristics:
① While improving old strains, vigorously develop new strains;
②Adopt a new pigment ratio, improve the existing varieties, increase the value of use, and expand the scope of application;
③ Considering that the form of the pigment is easy to disperse the vehicle, and in order to prevent the dust from flying, the commercial dosage form produced is developed from powder to slurry.
