In order to help the blind people to walk conveniently, indicator should be set up on the pedestrian underpass in the urban central areas such as roads, commercial streets, pedestrian streets, squares, bridges, tunnels, intersections and buildings. Pedestrian overpasses, pedestrian tunnels, crosswalks and major bus stops should be equipped with warning blind lanes.
In order to better play the role of SS Tactile Indicator marking, the design of blind marking has the following requirements:
1: The blind road should be located 250-600 mm away from the outer wall, flower terrace and green belt of the pavement.
2: The marking line of the indicator can be set at 250-600 mm away from the tree cave on the inner side of the pavement; if there is no tree cave on the road, the distance between the indicator and the edge stone should not be less than 500 mm.
3: The location and direction of indicator marking should facilitate the safe walking and smooth access to barrier-free facilities for people with visual disabilities.
4: A warning indicator should be set at the turning of the indicator, and its length should be greater than the width of the indicator.
5: The bus stops along the sidewalk and partition should be equipped with a prompt indicator with a width of 300-600 mm and a distance of 250-500 mm from the edge of the road.
6: Indicator markings should be laid continuously. Obstacles such as trees, poles, wires, tree holes and well covers should be avoided. Other facilities should not occupy the indicator.
