Vlogging boosts demand for smart devices

Demand for devices suitable for video blogging, or vlogging, is surging in China and covers smartphones, TVs and various accessories.
Such devices are said to make video production and distribution more stabilized, interactive and efficient.
Vivo, the No. 2 smartphone brand in the domestic market, has just launched its X50 models with a built-in gimbal. It offers vloggers the best stability of all smartphones, supporting shooting video in dark environments such as night sky photography. Its X50 Pro model features a 100 million pixel camera to support video production.
The X50 models, with a starting price of 3,498 yuan (US$500), will be on sale next Friday.
Home appliance giant Skyworth has launched a smart TV, the A20, which features a pop-up camera and artificial intelligence functions to serve group photography and video creation.
During the recent 618 sales campaign, Skyworth's sales of TVs amounted to more than 200 million yuan.
Guilin-based Zhiyun, a stabilization device vendor, has penetrated the market for wide-coverage products including smartphones, cameras and gimbal systems used by film directors.
The vlog and livestream demand, along with improved smartphone cameras, also fuel demand from ordinary consumers who also want to create high-quality video.
Startup Zhiyun offers an entry-level gimbal product, Smooth X, for 299 yuan.
