The maintenance of rolling mill bearings should be carried out on a regular basis, mainly including: monitoring the running state of the bearings, replacing lubricants, and regularly disassembling and inspecting, etc., which must be completed in accordance with certain operating standards.

Lubrication is a method of bearing maintenance. Through lubrication and maintenance, abnormal friction between bearing rings, rolling elements and cages can be reduced, excessive wear of bearings can be avoided, and the service life of rolls can be prolonged. The temperature generated by friction is lowered as soon as possible to prevent other foreign objects from invading into the bearing and affecting the normal operation of the production line. The lubrication and maintenance of bearings are divided into grease lubrication and oil lubrication. If you only want to improve the lubrication of the bearing through maintenance, oil lubrication is suitable. If you want to simplify the characteristics of the structure around the bearing through maintenance, grease lubrication is suitable.

When maintaining the disassembled bearing, the bearing should also be professionally cleaned. This is to remove the bearing from the baseline. First, look at the appearance of the bearing to determine the residual amount of lubricant, and then clean it with use detergent or kerosene to clean the bearing. It should be placed in a special container during operation. The cleaning environment should be kept clean, and the bearing should not be directly contacted with dirt during the cleaning process. When cleaning the bearing, it is necessary to rotate while cleaning to avoid damage to the rolling surface of the bearing, and use a clean brush to remove the grease and attachments in it. After cleaning, put it in the cleaning oil and carefully clean it. Here, pay attention to the cleaning oil. It should be replaced frequently and cannot be used for a long time.

After the bearing is cleaned, it should be carefully inspected. It is necessary to check the state of the bearing surface, rolling element and mating surface, as well as the integrity of the cage. If it is found that the gap between the bearing parts increases or the dimensional accuracy decreases, it is necessary to replace the new bearing in time. Special attention should be paid to some large-sized bearings, such as four-row tapered roller bearings, four-row cylindrical roller bearings, etc., special equipment must be used to detect them, and the bearings in the key parts of the rolling mill production line should be maintained and inspected more carefully.
