What killed it in closing fantasy for me was that the bounded atmosphere on the planet. The loading screen between zones, with entrances and exit portals kills the world feeling that is open that an MMORPG should have. The invisible walls everywhere kills it for me too, and the lack of jumping. Feels too static. I loved the Final Fantasy games I love the courses and bestiary and I really wanted to like FF14, but it seems like such a limited and stiff game compared to WoW.

I at least have a title for it. FF fails the"empty level" test, in my own opinion. And by that I mean that if I loaded into an empty ass blank white stage with my WoW character, chances are I could still amuse myself for a fantastic period of time just with the movement mechanics and any ability I may be able to spam around me (also the leap spamming of course). I would be expecting to run into invisible walls, be unable to jump, if I loaded my FF personality into a blank white point, and they would find a way to make load screen appear. It's why I do not play The Division.

That is an method of putting it. I kid you not I spent 2 hours in my epic mount while getting carried away with a profound conversation in discord, leaping around in circles at stormwind. Would have been just as amusing in an amount, movement feels great compared to some other MMO.

At the conclusion WoWs gameplay feels so smooth in comparison to other MMOs over the years. Tera, guild wars, etc and I've played with and all felt somewhat clunky with rubber banding. I havent played with the FF series so I cant comment. I would really like to get another game like wow but fresh as I've played with vanilla servers the previous few years but nothing compares for me. Looking forward to legit TBC tho.

I believe that it's hard to compare the two. They are just creatures. I hop back and on them (currently back on XIV following being on WOW Classic for weeks ). It depends upon what you want. I feel as there mores room for you produce your own experience in WOW Classic vs FFXIV where it is more linear and story driven (and it's a damn good story). Not saying one is better than another, only a different feel. One stark distinction is the community, nevertheless. The WOW Classic neighborhood are inclined to be poisonous and outspoken. Which adds a little spice but after a while it obnoxious to be around.WOW Classic Pet Peeves
