米ジョージア 東芝製ボーグル原発3号機 運転開始

東芝は1日、傘下の米原子力プラント大手ウエスチングハウス（Westinghouse、WH）が受注した米ジョージア州のボーグル原子力発電所3号機向けの機器を出荷したと発表した。東芝が米国の新規の原発向けに大型機器を輸出するのは初めて。
ジョージア州オーガスタ近郊で建設が進むボーグル原発3号機向けに、蒸気を水に戻して再利用する「復水器」を出荷した。東芝はボーグル原発3、4号機向けのタービン・発電機の製造も横浜市にある京浜事業所で開始しており、今後順次出荷する予定。
ボーグル原発3号機はHW社が開発した新型原子炉「AP1000」（出力115万キロワット級）を採用しており、運転開始は2016年の計画。米国での新規の原発建設は、1979年のスリーマイル島（ペンシルベニア州）での原発事故以来、約30年ぶりとなる。
