文化芸術の振興に関する基本的な方針（第1次基本方針）

ⅰ）文化芸術に関する教育
国民が，文化芸術に対する関心と理解を深め，自らを含む社会全体がその担い手であるという意識を持って，文化芸術を創造し，享受していくためには，その基礎となる豊かな感性や創造性をはぐくむとともに，文化芸術に触れ，親しむことができる教育環境づくりが重要である。
家庭，学校，地域が連携して，自然，歴史，伝統，文化に対する関心や理解を深め，尊重する態度を育て，豊かな人間性を涵養することが大切である。
特に，学校教育においては，子どもたちが優れた文化芸術に直接触れ，親しみ，創造する機会を持つことができるよう，創造的な体験の機会の充実など，文化芸術に関する教育の充実を図る必要がある。同時に，教員一人一人が豊かな感性と幅広い教養を持ち，自己啓発に努めながら，教育活動を展開することにより，学校教育活動全体をより文化的なものとしていく必要がある。
