親族へ臓器提供、移植の直前に待機患者登録 あいまいルール露呈

010522001年07月11日朝刊2社会03800458文字東京都中央区の聖路加国際病院で今月1日に脳死判定を受けた60代男性の腎臓が、本人の生前の意思で親族2人に提供された問題で、親族2人は移植直前になって、日本臓器移植ネットワーク（東京都港区）の待機患者として登録されていたことが分かった。移植ネットには公平、公正な臓器あっせん業務が求められており、ルールのあいまいさが問われそうだ。
移植ネットに腎移植希望者として登録されている待機患者は、現在約1万3千人いる。公平性を保つため通常、脳死者が出ると、血液型や白血球の型などで優先順位がつけられ、上位の患者が移植を受けることになる。
関係者によると、移植を受けた親族2人はネットに登録しておらず、提供者が脳死と判定された後、登録のための手続きをすませたという。
脳死移植での親族への提供について厚生労働省は「特例」として「問題はない」としているが、ルールが明文化されていないため、厚生科学審議会の臓器移植委員会で検討することにした。あっせん業務のあり方や、特例の親族を待機患者として扱うかどうかの整理も必要になりそうだ。
