デニス・オッペンハイム「parallel stress」

これはレンガブロック塀と、ブルックリン、マンハッタン両橋間の崩れたコンクリート桟橋の間で行われた、10分間のパフォーマンスによる作品だ。オッペンハイムの体に最大の負荷がかかる姿勢になった瞬間を撮影している。オッペンハイムは、2つのレンガブロック塀の間で体を支える力を試してみた。負荷は、体のそり具合を基に記録された。彼の体は人間箸となり、体の両端がそれぞれ架かっている桟橋同様、彼の体が崩れ落ちるまでこの姿勢を取り続けた。オッペンハイムは両壁の間隔を広げながら、このパフォーマンスを繰り返し行った。
ロングアイランドの廃棄された排水だめの地面上のくぼみを使って、負荷の姿勢を一時間にわたって繰り返した。
