アナ・メンディエタ「髭移植」

「友人の顎鬚を自分の顔に転移させる、それを行った。転移とは、物体をある場所から抽出して、別の場所に置くことだ。ある人から別の人へ毛を転移させるという考えが気に入った。」
またメンディエタは、初期作品の多くに血液を使っている。いわく
「血液にはとても強い魔力があると思うのです。負の力ではありません。血液や自分の体と取り組んで作品を作っていると、その力を本当に獲得することができる。男性たちはコンセプチュアル・アートに熱中して、清潔そのもののことしかやっていませんでした。」
